AI drug discovery spun out of ByteDance in 2026 after starting as an internal unit in 2021, taking ~50 core staff, the model stack and early-stage assets with it. Builds the open-sourced Protenix structure-prediction model (an AlphaFold3 reimplementation) and PXDesign for de-novo protein binders, and has its own candidates including an AI-designed IL-17 inhibitor. ByteDance keeps 56% after the first external round. Shanghai, with Singapore and US offices.
