Notes

Physics-first physical AI: a vision-force-action model that learns dexterous manipulation from force feedback and physics simulation rather than from vision alone or human teleoperation demonstrations, aimed first at robotic bin picking and object handling. Founded by Pulkit Agrawal, an MIT professor, and Tuomas Haarnoja, previously a Google DeepMind researcher and a co-author of the Soft Actor-Critic algorithm. The $1.45B is the post-money on a $150M Series A announced 2026-10-20, co-led by Andreessen Horowitz and F-Prime, with seed leads Obvious Ventures and E14 Fund returning and MFV Partners, Bison Ventures, Glasswing Ventures, Samsung Next and unnamed Fortune 500 strategic investors joining. Andreessen Horowitz says the system manages as many as 1,500 picks an hour in lab bin picking, about two and a half times human speed, on the company's own measurements; Eka has disclosed no revenue and no customer contracts.
