NVIDIA put $2B into it on 2026-03-02, half of a $4B photonics investment split with Coherent, each leg paired with a multi-year strategic agreement that includes a multibillion-dollar NVIDIA purchase commitment and non-exclusive future capacity access rights; no figure has been stated for the purchase commitment, so only the equity leg is drawn. Lumentum is putting its share into a new fab. MARVELL AGREED TO BUY IT on 2026-11-02 in an all-stock merger at an implied enterprise value of $115B, 4.5 Marvell shares per Lumentum share or about $1,132 a share, a 23.9% premium to the 2026-10-28 close, with Reuters putting the equity value at $102.54B and closing expected in the first half of 2028; Lumentum holders would own about 33% of the combined company. Marvell is also already a customer, buying Lumentum lasers. The mark is the market cap and belongs to the ticker feed, which took the field over on 2026-11-04 and replaced the hand seed the 2026-11-03 pass had read off a quote page. The shares fell on the announcement with Marvell's own, so the cap is well below the pre-deal quote pages' $76.15B to $82.79B.
