Browser IDE turned autonomous app-building agent. At TechCrunch Disrupt on 2026-10-15 chief executive Amjad Masad said Replit is no longer working with ANTHROPIC, citing cost and model performance and calling OpenAI the better partner 'for now'. The claim is contested: a person familiar with the partnership told TechCrunch it is still in place, and Replit's own September 2026 blog post lists Claude Fable 5 and Fable 5.1 running in Replit Agent's production environment. Neither company has announced a termination, so the routing edge to Anthropic stands while the claim is disputed.
