DeepSeek was valued at $51.8B as of 16 July 2026 (reported). Source: Reuters, Chinese filing implies DeepSeek valuation of around $52 billion (Anhui Korrun disclosed a fund's RMB2.9B for an indirect 0.8265% stake, implying RMB350.88B / $51.82B for the first external round).

Hangzhou lab building open frontier models known for training efficiency. V4 runs native on Chinese chips. Annualised revenue reached about $1B by September 2026, more than double a few months earlier and almost entirely from API access. Partnered with Huawei on 2026-09-30 to build open-source programming tools for Ascend silicon, aimed squarely at the CUDA software lock-in that underpins NVIDIA's position. The mark here is the FIRST external round, closed around June 2026 at ~RMB50B (~$7.4B) with Tencent (RMB10B), CATL (RMB5B), NetEase, JD.com and the National AI Industry Investment Fund in and founder Liang Wenfeng putting in ~RMB20B himself. The post-money is an IMPLIED figure rather than a disclosed one: the luggage maker Anhui Korrun disclosed on 2026-07-16 that a fund it backs paid RMB2.9B for an indirect 0.8265% stake, from which Reuters computed RMB350.88B (~$51.82B), and Caixin separately reported a post-money of more than RMB350B. Reuters cautions the filings do not say whether new or existing shares were involved, so this is a transaction-implied equity valuation and stays `reported` - the same treatment as Scale AI's implied mark. A second, far larger pre-IPO round is still open and unclosed: Bloomberg and CNBC reported on 2026-10-06 that at least RMB80B (~$12B) is committed against the RMB50B originally sought, that the final tally could approach RMB100B (~$15B) on signed term sheets, that Tencent and CATL are again among the largest cheques, and that it should wrap up in October at a reported RMB500B (~$74-75B) pre-money. Nobody states the post-money that would imply, so it is not carried here. DeepSeek plans to restructure after the financing ahead of a Shanghai STAR Market listing, with an application expected as early as the end of 2026 and a debut framed as early 2027. Chinese regulators are reported to have opened a data-security probe into both DeepSeek and Moonshot AI, which is a new risk to that timetable. It is also now investing rather than only raising: Bloomberg reported on 2026-10-12 that DeepSeek is set to lead a seed round worth tens of millions of dollars in Winverse AI, a Hangzhou robotics-AI startup founded by former Tencent vision-language and robotics lead Hu Han, valuing it at about $400M, with Meituan's Long-Z also committed. The round is not closed, and it is a first clear step into robotics for a lab that has worked almost entirely on language models.
