Model router across providers; owns no GPUs. One API, no lock-in. Being acquired by Stripe for over $7B; continues to operate independently. The price has never been disclosed by either party and the reports do not agree: Bloomberg said over $7B (2026-08-16), which is the floor the map carries; the New York Times is relayed as putting it at about $7.5B with $1.5B of that earmarked for the founders and $6B for investors, a figure Forbes repeated on 2026-09-15 as "a reported $7-7.5B"; and Axios put it above $8B. No figure appears in a company release or filing and the NYT breakdown could not be read from its own page, so the mark stays at the Bloomberg floor until the close settles it.
