The biggest private fundraise in history stopped shrinking and started closing. OpenAI took in about $11B, the first slice of a round that values it at $1.25 trillion, and while that is a 47% jump on the $852B it was worth in March, it is well short of the $30B at $1.4 trillion the company set out to raise six weeks ago. Its mark on this map moves for the first time since March, and moves as reported rather than verified, because OpenAI has said nothing and the figures come from people close to the deal. Elsewhere Alphabet turned out to own $548M of Qualcomm, a stake it never bought: the shares arrived when Qualcomm paid for an AI startup Google had backed. Seven company reviews produced two new edges and one upgraded mark.
First close of about $11B inside a round that could reach about $20B, against an original target of $30B or more at about $1.4T. Coatue Management and T. Rowe Price are named in the first close alongside SoftBank, Sequoia, Founders Fund and Andreessen Horowitz, and two investors told Reuters that SoftBank and MGX took part. reported, 2026-11-06, on Bloomberg and Reuters. No party states the $1.25T and no source says whether it is pre- or post-money, so the figure is carried as stated and nothing is compounded
No change in the number, a change in who stands behind it. The September round was carried on Axios and Business Insider; Forbes of 2026-09-30 is headlined that the company confirms the $250M at $15B, which this map's rules count as a party statement. as_of moves from 09-25 to 09-30
ADDED. $350M at a $3.25B post-money led by the angel investor Elad Gil, with Kleiner Perkins, Lux Capital, Hanabi Capital, NVIDIA, Blackstone, Shopify Ventures and HubSpot Ventures named, on the company's own post of 2026-11-02. verified. Three ex-OpenAI researchers building custom reinforcement-learning agents, past $100M of annualised revenue in under 18 months. Forbes had the same figures as talks on 2026-09-02, so the company's own post is what makes it a close
