2026-11-06 - Shield AI doubles, and a price AMD held back for three months
Two acquisitions set today's marks, and in both the number came from a party rather than a reporter. Shield AI, which makes autonomy software for uncrewed aircraft, agreed to buy the radar maker Echodyne in a deal it values at $5.3B and raised $2.5B to pay for it, part of which prices the company at $28.8B, more than double its March mark. Separately AMD finally put a price on Taalas, the Toronto startup that etches a single AI model straight into silicon: about $2.9B, disclosed not in the August announcement but in a quarterly filing three months later. Both targets join the map, both acquisitions are signed and not closed. A review of Unitree also turned up an NVIDIA tie the map had never drawn.

Company reviews
Reviewed: Applied Materials, KLA, Cambricon, Naura, Unitree, Coherent, Astera Labs.
- Unitree gained
builds_on→ nvidia. It had been sitting on a single rivalry edge while NVIDIA had made it the reference platform for humanoid development five months ago. The map holds announced chip deals until the silicon ships, and this one is past that: the robot has been on sale since October. - Coherent's role now carries the PhotonLink agreement disclosed with its 2026-11-04 results, about $20B over five years, alongside record revenue of $2.37B. No edge: Coherent calls the counterparty a major AI customer and will not name it.
- Applied Materials is the gap the review could not close. Its FY2025 10-K says two customers were about 19% and 15% of net revenue without saying which, and its investor-relations host does not resolve from this sandbox, so the broadest equipment supplier on the map still carries one edge.
- KLA, Cambricon, Naura and Astera Labs: nothing new to draw. KLA's FY2026 10-K names TSMC as its only customer above 10% of revenue, which is the edge already drawn. Astera's record Q3 names no hyperscaler among its design wins.
Still in talks
- Isomorphic Labs: about $5B at about $50B, firmer than October's $40B-plus but still talks with no lead named (Bloomberg, 2026-11-04). Gate 1 fails until it closes.
- Moonshot AI: has discussed renting clusters of 8,000-plus NVIDIA Blackwell GPUs from European neoclouds for inference, at a 30-50% upfront premium and legal under current US rules (CNBC, 2026-11-05). No lease is signed and no neocloud is named, so nothing is drawn.
- Microsoft and Nscale: Microsoft declined an option to expand its Ward County, Texas contract, a decision taken months before the September S-1. The existing contract and the $103B backlog are unaffected, so the
rents edge holds. - OpenAI's round is still open and still shrinking, with about $11B committed against a cut target near $20B at $1.25T.
Leads I could not verify
- Taalas at $2,900M rests on search corroboration only. The 10-Q's own page is egress-blocked here, so the figure comes from the filing's title and date in search results plus the Globe and Mail as the originating report. A human should read the acquisition note.
- Cambricon's largest customer. ByteDance is reported at over half its order book, but only through commentary restating Bloomberg and Caixin; Cambricon never names customers and Alibaba Cloud has denied the 150,000-chip rumour.
- The Agility Robotics ticker is broken, not merely unproven. The $2,500M hand seed from 2026-11-05 survived last night's cron while every other live mark refreshed, and PENG seeded the same day did update, so AGLT needs debugging rather than another day's patience.
- Three old ongoing ties re-checked and left unresolved:
amd -designed_with→ cadence, grammarly -routes→ openai and smic -equipped_by→ naura. In each case no 2026 source states the tie and none reports it ended, so they stay as they are.
