2026-10-16 — The world's fourth memory maker joins the map
A category sweep turned up a company that has been hiding in plain sight. CXMT, a DRAM maker in Hefei, listed in Shanghai in July, is now the fourth-largest memory supplier on earth behind Samsung, SK hynix and Micron, and was the reason American and Korean memory stocks sold off this week — and it was not on this map until today. Elsewhere, Ramp confirmed a $1.85B round that lifts it to $60B four months after its last one, and the US Federal Trade Commission sent formal demands for information to both OpenAI and Anthropic.

Ramp$44,000M → $60,000M$1.85B announced 2026-10-15, led by Dragoneer with Thrive Capital, Founders Fund, Sands Capital and Avenir Growth co-leading; annualised revenue past $2B, 85,000 businesses, $275B annualised purchase volume. verified on the company release. Bloomberg calls the $60B a pre-money figure and the release does not say, so the map carries the figure the release states. Company release · TechCrunch · SiliconANGLE

New edges
cxmt —rivals→ micron, cxmt —rivals→ skhynix, cxmt —rivals→ samsung — Counterpoint's DRAM revenue share puts CXMT fourth at 8%, up from 3% a year earlier, behind Samsung at 38%, SK hynix at 29% and Micron at 22%; by the second quarter of 2026 it sat a single point behind Micron, the narrowest that gap has been in twelve years. reported, 2026-10-16 (Counterpoint via Nasdaq).scaleai —builds_on→ nvidia — Scale AI and NVIDIA announced a post-training partnership in which Scale customises NVIDIA's open-weight Nemotron models for enterprise agent work, building the training and evaluation data and post-training the model inside the customer's own workflow; NVIDIA's developer blog names Scale on the other side of it. verified, 2026-10-15 (Scale blog).
Still in talks
- DeepSeek: the second round is still unclosed. Bloomberg has at least RMB80B (~$12B) with Tencent and CATL committing the largest cheques, Caijing says it is nearing completion, and DeepSeek has not announced it. The map holds its $51,820M.
- Amazon / Decart: about $7B, nothing signed, another bidder still possible.
- Anduril: the employee tender that would price it near $90B opened 2026-10-13 and does not close until 2026-11-09. The map holds the $61B Series H.
- Firmus: a backer told the Australian Financial Review a Nasdaq listing could be bigger than the A$44B ASX float the company abandoned on 2026-10-09. That is a shareholder talking, not a filing.
- Cohere / AISLE: a letter of intent to buy the cybersecurity firm AISLE, terms undisclosed. An LOI is weaker than a signed deal and AISLE is not on the map, so nothing moved.
Leads I could not verify
- Anthropic revenue of "$16.8 billion" (a Yahoo Finance headline that also says growth is slowing). Nothing in a direct search carries that figure, the period it covers is unstated, and what the search did find points the other way — Bloomberg had second-quarter revenue near $11.5B and a run rate past $65B by the end of July, with the slowing-growth story attached to OpenAI rather than Anthropic. No change made.
- The Cohere / AISLE deal itself. Three outlets carry it; a direct search returned only an unrelated 2023 acquisition of a different company also called Cohere.
- CXMT's mark rests on a news quote, not a live feed. Every quote endpoint is blocked in this environment, including the Tencent service this repository normally falls back to, so the $520,000M is CNBC's figure for 2026-10-13 and is high against the 15 October close. Tonight's ticker run should replace it; if it survives that run, the ticker needs debugging.
huawei —memory_from→ cxmt is not drawn. CXMT has shipped HBM3 samples and targets volume production by the end of 2026, but Tom's Hardware reports the Ascend 950 series uses Huawei's own HiBL and HiZQ memory instead. The sources contradict each other, so the edge waits for a statement from either company.
