2026-10-27 - Anthropic puts the biggest number in AI on the public record
The document the industry has waited on since June arrived yesterday afternoon: Anthropic filed its IPO prospectus publicly and will list on Nasdaq as ANT. It shows a company that made $16.3B in six months against $1.2B in the same half of 2025, lost $80.7B over those months, and has signed up for a compute bill so large that four reputable outlets read four different totals out of the one filing. No price has been set, so nothing here re-prices on it. One mark did move, and it was not Anthropic's: Bedrock Robotics, which retrofits excavators to drive themselves, more than doubled to $4.1B.
Today in AI
- Anthropic filed its S-1 publicly and will list on Nasdaq as ANT, with the share count and price range still to be set; it reported $16.3B of revenue for the first half of 2026 against $1.2B a year earlier, and an $80.7B net loss - Anthropic link.
- The filing's 94 pages of risk factors include a warning that the scale of harm from a catastrophic AI incident could leave the company unable to buy insurance at all, and that its safety and advocacy positions invite selective targeting by the Trump administration - Wall Street Journal link.
- Anthropic will stay a public benefit corporation after listing, its seven co-founders keeping 50.1% of the vote through one special share, so public holders will own it without controlling it - Reuters link.
- SpaceX agreed a roughly $40B equipment finance lease with Apollo to pay for NVIDIA chips, closing before year end, which gives a counterparty and a structure to the borrowing Musk said on Sunday was done - Bloomberg link.
- Microsoft offered buyouts to about 60,000 staff at vice-president level and below across four countries, more than a quarter of its June headcount - Bloomberg link.
- Bedrock Robotics raised $600M at a $4.1B valuation for excavators and dozers that work a site with nobody in the cab, co-led by Alphabet's growth fund and Emergence Capital - Bloomberg link.
- Microsoft and others shipped emergency patches for a flaw in Brotli, the compression library built into Node.js, that could let an attacker run code remotely on a very large number of servers - BleepingComputer link.
Marks moved
Bedrock Robotics$1,750M -> $4,100M$600M Series C announced 2026-10-26, co-led by CapitalG and Emergence Capital, with Bessemer, Temasek and the US Innovative Technology Fund new and NVIDIA's NVentures returning. reported: the company release headline carries the $600M and no valuation, so the $4.1B is Bloomberg's and the trade coverage's. company release · Bloomberg
Anthropic's mark did not move: an S-1 with no price range prices nothing, so the $965B May Series H stands, and the $1.5T to $2T the WSJ's sources attach to a week-of-11-16 listing is a banker's target.
New edges
No edge was drawn. Bedrock Robotics' two on-map backers, Alphabet through CapitalG and NVIDIA through NVentures, were already drawn from the February Series B, and its new investors have no nodes. The $40B SpaceX lease draws nothing either: Apollo has no node, and no NVIDIA contract or value has been announced behind the chip purchases it funds.
Still in talks
- Anthropic's IPO: filed, not priced. An amended filing with a price range is the first markable figure. Nscale: its own price range is still blank and marketing has not started.
- OpenAI: up to $30B at a $1.25 trillion pre-money, led by Coatue and UAE investors, still unsigned past the week in which signatures were asked for.
- Agility Robotics: holders vote on 2026-11-02, then a Nasdaq listing as AGLT. Higgsfield: the NVIDIA and TCV extension still discloses no size and no price, so the August $5.4B stands.
- Pathos AI, Flapping Airplanes, Lambda, Stripe and OpenRouter, Cohere and Aleph Alpha, Amazon and Decart, Mercor, Baseten, Shield AI, Firmus: checked, unchanged.
Leads I could not verify
- The S-1 itself could not be opened. sec.gov does not resolve from this sandbox, so everything above except Anthropic's own announcement - which does open - rests on the titles and datelines of the outlets that read the filing. A human should read it.
- Six of Anthropic's compute edges stay
reported rather than upgrading on the filing. Relays of the one document disagree by up to 30% on the individual deals: Nscale $44.6B against the $45B this map carries, Lambda $41.3B against $35B, Microsoft $44.9B against $31.4B, Broadcom $161.2B against a $125.2B lease. A citation nobody here has read is the defect last week's audit found 19 times. - Anthropic's total compute obligation was not recorded at all. CNBC reads about $417B, Yahoo Finance $518B, one analyst $637B from summing the seven named agreements, and the FT nearly $800B over ten years. The filing states no aggregate, so every total is somebody's arithmetic.
- Bedrock Robotics' $4.1B rests on search corroboration for the valuation only; the round itself is company-announced. Reading the GlobeNewswire release body would settle it. Verizon's AI deal with Amazon was declined outright: the WSJ says over $2B, a relay says $20B, and Verizon has no node.
