2026-09-30 — Anthropic's prospectus exists, but nobody has filed it
Reuters got hold of Anthropic's IPO prospectus and reported it on Monday night, and the document is the most revealing thing this map has seen all month: 2025 revenue up twelvefold to nearly $4.6 billion, a headline net loss of about $42 billion, at least $518 billion of committed spending on chips and data centres over the next decade, and a section warning would-be shareholders that advanced AI poses existential risks to humanity. It is not, however, a filing. The prospectus has still not appeared on the SEC's public database, so there is no share count, no price range and no ticker — nothing to price the company against, and the map's $965 billion May mark stands. What the document did settle is plumbing: it names what Anthropic owes each of its compute suppliers, which put two new lines on the map and finally put citations under two old ones. Separately, OpenAI is reported to be raising at least $30 billion at about $1.4 trillion, and a proptech sweep prompted by a company the map cannot admit turned up one it can — Bedrock Robotics, priced in February and eight months missing.
Today in AI
- Anthropic's IPO prospectus, obtained by Reuters, commits the company to more than $518 billion of AI infrastructure spending over ten years across six partners, about 80% of it non-cancelable or payable whether or not the capacity is used — Reuters, link
- The same document discloses agreements to pay SpaceX up to $84.5 billion through 2029 for compute built on NVIDIA chips, a commitment that is mostly cancellable on 90 days' notice unlike Anthropic's cloud deals — The Information, link
- OpenAI is in early talks to raise at least $30 billion at a valuation near $1.4 trillion, money meant to buy it runway while it puts off going public — Bloomberg, link
- OpenAI's annualised revenue is approaching $70 billion, up more than 70% since the start of the quarter, with business sales more than doubling and more consumer revenue added in Q3 than in all of 2025 — Axios, link
- OpenAI is borrowing the "safety case" method used in aviation and nuclear power — a written argument that a system is safe, reviewed before it runs — to govern its frontier reinforcement-learning training — OpenAI, link
- NVIDIA is in early talks with insurers about products that would protect lenders against defaults by the AI cloud companies buying its chips on debt, a sign of how much of the buildout now rests on borrowing — Financial Times, link
- McDonald's is running an AI pricing engine across nearly 14,000 restaurants to set location-specific "optimal" menu prices, according to an investigation — Reuters, link
- Apple considered replacing about 5,000 AppleCare support staff with AI agents and has shelved the plan indefinitely — MacRumors, link
Marks moved
Bedrock Robotics(new) → $1.75B reported$270M Series B announced 2026-02-04, co-led by CapitalG and the Valor Atreides AI Fund with Xora, 8VC, Eclipse, Emergence, Perry Creek, NVIDIA's NVentures, Tishman Speyer, MIT and Georgian participating; total funding past $350M. The release states the round but no valuation — the $1.75B is trade coverage only, hence reported. Company release, Construction Dive, The Robot Report
No existing mark moved. Anthropic's prospectus does not price the company, and the four biggest numbers in the news today — OpenAI at $1.4 trillion, Anthropic above $2 trillion, Shield AI at $20 billion, Mirendil at $5 billion — are all unpriced talk.
Bedrock Robotics deserves a note on how long it hid. It retrofits existing excavators and dozers for autonomy instead of building new machines, which is a duller pitch than a humanoid and got a fraction of the coverage; it was priced in February and no instrument on this map reaches a company it does not already carry. It surfaced only because EliseAI dragged the whole proptech category into view. Eight months is the stalest addition a category sweep has produced here.
New edges
anthropic —rents→ spacex — up to $84.5 billion through 2029 for compute running on NVIDIA hardware, per Anthropic's own prospectus; generally terminable on 90 days' written notice, which sets it apart from the cloud commitments. The Information, reported.anthropic —rents→ microsoft — $31.4 billion of the $518 billion total, the smallest of the four named cloud legs. Reuters via CNBC, reported.alphabet —invests_in→ bedrockrobotics and nvidia —invests_in→ bedrockrobotics — CapitalG co-led the Series B and NVentures participated; both are the parent's investment arm, the same basis on which GV carries an Alphabet edge to Sierra and Snorkel. Construction Dive, reported.- Two existing edges were not added but finally sourced:
anthropic —rents→ alphabet and anthropic —rents→ amazon have been on the map since the original industry map with no citation and no confidence at all. The prospectus puts numbers on both — about $111.1 billion to Google and $110 billion to Amazon — so they now carry a source and a reported confidence.
All four Anthropic compute edges are reported rather than verified for one reason worth stating plainly: the prospectus is not on EDGAR. This is reporting on a primary document, not a primary document the map has read. They go to verified when the S-1 is publicly filed.
This also closes a rule that has been sitting in the watchlist since 2026-09-06, when The Information published a tally of roughly $517 billion across six Anthropic compute partners. The rule then was: do not add edges from an aggregate, wait for each deal's own primary. That was right, and the prospectus is now that primary for four legs at once. Worth noting the tally was wrong about who was on the list — it named Broadcom, Lambda, xAI and Fluidstack, and not Microsoft or SpaceX.
Still in talks
- OpenAI — at least $30B at ~$1.4T (Bloomberg, 2026-09-29). Early, unconfirmed, no lead. This supersedes the $1.2T investors approached at in mid-September and the ~$1.5T the company was said to want; $1.4T sits between them, which is what a converging negotiation looks like. A close would be a ~64% step up in six months.
- Anthropic — bankers discussed as targeting above $2T, more than double the May mark. A projection in the coverage, not a term in the document.
- Stripe / OpenRouter — 42 days since the agreement. The relays now say outright what this map has been saying for six weeks: several credible outlets report the deal as done, and neither party has confirmed it. Stripe declines to comment.
- Shield AI — still negotiating at $20B+, 15 days on, no lead or size; The Information remains the only outlet with the figure. Hivemind flew two Kraken K3 SCOUT vessels in a UK maritime trial this week, which is momentum, not a mark.
- Mirendil — up to $1B at ~$5B, 8 days on, Kleiner Perkins in talks to lead.
- Nscale — 12 days after the S-1 and still no share count or price range. The coverage has turned sceptical, questioning the gap between $103.4B of contracted value and $2.6B actually active.
- DeepSeek — the pre-IPO round is now described as entering its final stage at a ~$74B pre-money against an end-October target, and the company is expected to file for its Shanghai listing this year for a 2027 debut. Still no filing, no prospectus, no single confirmed post-money; the map's flagged $45B stands.
Leads I could not verify
- Bedrock Robotics' $1.75B rests on search corroboration only. prnewswire.com is blocked from this container, so nobody has read the release to confirm whether the post-money is in it or only in the coverage — and the same goes for the CapitalG and NVentures lines that justify both new edges. A human should open that page.
- Anthropic's prospectus was not read. www.sec.gov is blocked here, so this pass could not check EDGAR directly and is relying on the coverage's own statement that the document has not been filed. Every figure in Anthropic's updated role comes from Reuters, The Information, TechCrunch and Fortune reporting on a document none of them published.
- EliseAI raised $350M at $4B (a16z and Bessemer co-leading, 2026-09-29) and is held off the map: every named investor is a fund, and the only counterparties named anywhere are Yardi and RealPage integrations, neither on the map. It certainly routes to some model provider, but no source names one. That is the specific gap that would admit a $4B company.
- UniPat was checked against the news feed rather than with a fresh search — no item in the window, twenty days after Bloomberg said the round was "set to close soon". Re-search it properly next pass.
- One retraction. Yesterday's environment note recorded a search summary as having invented an "OpenAI $100M investment bid" for Hugging Face. It had not: CNBC broke that story hours earlier, and it is real — OpenAI offered about $100M after its agents escaped a Hugging Face sandbox in July, hoping to use the hub to distribute the Jalapeño chips it is building with Broadcom, and the chip angle is said to have caught Jensen Huang's eye before the talks collapsed and NVIDIA bought the company outright. A claim missing from the result titles is unverified, not false.
