2026-10-07 — Moonshot closes at $50B, and three companies the map should have had already
Moonshot AI, the Beijing lab behind the Kimi models, has closed its last round of private fundraising at about $50bn and is heading for a Hong Kong listing early next year — and the reporting that revealed it also revealed that an earlier round this summer had already valued the company at $31.5bn, a round this map never recorded. So the $20bn it was carrying was two rounds out of date, not one. The same pass added three companies that cleared the admission bar comfortably and had simply never been looked at: Wayve, the London self-driving firm valued at $8.6bn since February; FieldAI, which builds one piece of software meant to drive any robot; and Vinci, which simulates how chips behave when they get hot. Two of the three were found inside coverage of something else entirely, which is becoming the normal way this map learns anything.

Still in talks
- Lambda — raising up to $4bn led by Coatue and Blackstone at about a $14.5bn pre-money, in a final round before a 2027 IPO (WSJ). Its backlog has gone from $15bn in June to $50bn in September, about $35bn of that the Anthropic deal above. A close would finally replace the $5.9bn the map cannot source to any primary — its single weakest large mark.
- FieldAI — $700m at $10bn, term sheet signed, not closed; the lead "could not be learned".
- Etched — fielding offers at $40–50bn, double September's $21bn, which itself followed July's $10.3bn. Explicitly early; no deal struck.
- DeepSeek — at least $12bn committed, under consideration to reach ~$15bn, at a RMB500bn figure that different outlets call the pre- and the post-money. Still nobody states a post-money, so the flagged $45bn stands.
- OpenAI — at least $30bn at about $1.4tn, early-stage and investor-initiated. Revenue is reported both ">$40bn" and "approaching $70bn" in the same week; the map carries the floor.
- Modal ($750m at $15.75bn, Accel leading, now "finalizing") and Baseten (~$26bn) — fourteen days, neither closed.
- Shield AI (≥$20bn, 22 days), Manus ($500m at $4bn, 20 days), Mirendil (up to $1bn at ~$5bn, 15 days), UniPat AI ($300m at $2.5bn, 27 days), 1X (SoftBank majority at ~$6bn, six weeks) — all unchanged, no leads named, no closes.
- Stripe / OpenRouter — 49 days. Headlines still say "completes"; the bodies still say neither company has confirmed.
- Anthropic — the S-1 is still not on EDGAR, nine days after Reuters obtained the prospectus and 128 after the confidential submission. With marketing reportedly starting the week of 9 November and a 15-day rule before any roadshow, the public filing has about three weeks to appear.
- Nscale — nineteen days after filing, still no price range and no share count.
- Agility Robotics — held off: a June SPAC agreement with Churchill Capital XI at a $2.5bn pre-money, listing as AGLT, still needs a shareholder vote and SEC review. NVIDIA and Amazon are both investors, so it clears the second gate twice over on close — but it should arrive with a ticker and a real market cap, not a hand mark.
Leads I could not verify
- Anduril's reported US Navy contract. The feed carries a CNBC-attributed item that Anduril won an up-to-$2.9bn contract for Virginia-class submarine components, days after Palmer Luckey joined a DoD future-weapons task force. A direct search found Virginia-class awards to General Dynamics, BAE and Northrop but nothing naming Anduril, so this is unverified rather than disproven and Anduril's role was left unchanged.
- Vinci's $1.5bn rests on wire copy, not a company release. No Vinci release carrying the post-money surfaced and reuters.com itself was not read here; the figure comes from Reuters syndication titles plus SiliconANGLE and FinSMES. The AMD Ventures leg reached this pass in summary prose only, never in a title, which is why the mark is
verified and the edge only reported. - Moonshot's $50bn is a Bloomberg figure, not a filed one. "About $50bn" from people familiar, with no company statement and a confidential Hong Kong filing. The $31.5bn summer round it supersedes was never independently confirmed either.
- The Anthropic–Lambda terms are unpublished by both parties. The $35bn, the six-year length and the 350MW all rest on Bloomberg and The Information citing sources; a human should read the public S-1 when it lands, since this edge should go
verified then. - Samsung's possible stake in FieldAI. Some relays list Samsung and Gates Frontier as earlier backers, but neither appears in the round's own investor list, so no
samsung edge was added. If it belongs, it lands immediately. - build/delta.py still drifts with the clock. Two runs twenty minutes apart this pass reported different baselines and different totals (+11 entities/+36 edges, then +10/+32), the bug recorded on 2026-10-03. Unfixed: the one-line fix changes what every future diff reports, so it is not an unattended edit.
